“Post GraD” Soundtrack & Gallery

August 17th, 2009 • By Kelly • Gallery, News, Post Grad

Our Twitter: @alexisbledelfan
Days until “Post Grad”: 4 days!
Just some general news and updates as its been pretty quiet on the Alexis front.
The “Post Grad” soundtrack will be released tomorrow so don’t forget to go and buy it or order it here at Amazon.com.
I have also added some candids from 2008 that we didnt have in the gallery before here.

Enterainment Weekly also have a mini preview of “Post Grad”, with some quotes form Alexis and Zach. Zach’s quote on Alexis is so cute! (:

Alexis Bledel (“Gilmore Girls”) plays a determined but naive college grad who ends up back home with her dysfunctional family. Zach Gilford (“Friday Night Lights”) plays the long-suffering best friend with a secret crush on her. Call it “When Rory Gilmore Met Matt Saracen.” “People still see me as Rory,” Bledel says, “and this kind of picks up where ‘Gilmore Girls’ left off.” As for Gilford, he admits that he — gasp! — never followed Bledel’s show, but sensed a kindred soul: “She’s such a dork, and that’s why I love her.”

“Post Grad” Interviews

August 15th, 2009 • By Kelly • Interview, Media, Post Grad

Twitter: @alexisbledelfan
Days left until “Post Grad”: six days!
I found a bunch of interviews, the first three being from the “Post Grad” Press Day on July 20th. The bottom two were only just uploaded a couple of days ago, and the first was uploaded today!

Alexis also did a Q&A with the San Fancisco Chronicle. Read the rest after the jump.

Q: Are you getting sent Rory roles over and over?
A: I do get scripts for sort of sweet characters for family films. I think it just takes time. I have to grow out of my image, and it has to do with the way I look, too, which I can’t do anything about (laughs).

Q: Why did you choose “Post Grad”?
A: I knew the writer through a friend for a few years. I thought it was a really relatable story; she’s my age. It’s her experience of graduating from college and not being able to get the job she wanted. This was years ago, before everything that’s going on now. I’d heard similar stories from friends and people from my class who’d graduated. I found it to be really true to people my age.

Interview & small Gallery Update

August 15th, 2009 • By Kelly • Gallery, Interview, Post Grad

Sign up 4 free “Post Grad” screenings: still many available!

I have added the whole set and some HQs from the “Post Grad” screening, take a look here and as well as a HQ “Post Grad” still here.
Alexis and “Post Grad” co-star, Zach Gilford recently had an interview with the Metro.

Before Zach Gilford landed the role of the best friend and eventual love interest to Alexis Bledel in Post Grad, he had to prove to the filmmakers that he and his prospective leading lady worked well together on screen.

“I had to go in with Alexis for a ‘chemistry read,’” Gilford remembers. “And I thought she hated me.”
Bledel, small and soft-spoken in person with piercing blue eyes, has to stop the interview right there. She turns to to Gilford. “Why did you think that?” she asks, sounding concerned.
“Because you’re shy,” he says.
Bledel had to shed that shyness for Post Grad, in which she stars as recent college grad Ryden Malby, whose plans are derailed when she doesn’t land her dream job.

Moving back in with her parents, Ryden suffers through a host of indignities in interviews and odd jobs, all the while ignoring the gorgeous guy right in front of her.
“She’s very distracted,” Bledel explains. “I would say damagingly so.”

Alexis Bledel’s post Gilmore Girls life

August 13th, 2009 • By Kelly • Interview, News

There is a small article and interview with Alexis at canada.com. Alexis talks about “Post Grad” and about her future career path with TV and movies. Read the rest after the excerpt.

Post Grad might be appropriate in more ways than one for Alexis Bledel. Sure, it’s the name of Bledel’s latest film, but the title could also refer to the early stages of her Gilmore Girls career aftermath.
Either way, the 27-year-old says, “So far, so good.”

Comedy is mostly the goal, but Bledel says the movie does have something to say about choices and chances for young females in the modern world.
“I think the film’s suggesting that you can’t plan everything,” reports Bledel who plays the typical undecided 20-something character. “You have to be open to what life throws your way, and adapt to things as you go.”
Fans may try to get familiar with Bledel’s Post Grad persona, but they might find it difficult to completely forget about her Rory Gilmore persona.
That may have more to say about the popularity of the Gilmore Girls series, which ran from 2000 to 2007, than the actress’s range. Indeed, the show seems even more popular in reruns over the last two years.

No matter, Bledel is making a casual effort to distance herself from the quick-witted, sometimes rebellious teen from the show.
In fact, she was doing that while the series was on the air. In 2005, she co-starred in the film version of the popular teen novel The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, portraying the artistic Lena who becomes involved with a Greek college student. That same year she played Becky the prostitute in Robert Rodriguez’s stylized Sin City and repeated her Lena part in the Sisterhood sequel last year.
While her Post Grad character isn’t a major leap, she’s satisfied that it’s a move forward. Besides, she doesn’t get too fixated with things like her career arc.
Raised in Houston by her Mexican mother, Nanette, and Danish-Argentinian father, Martin, her first language was Spanish until she started school at five.

As luck would have it, she was 16 when she was discovered at a suburban mall in her hometown and soon found herself in New York modelling while attending NYU.
“I kind of discovered acting in college at NYU,” she recalls. “I started auditioning because I had a modelling agent and in their same office is where I met my manager. So I kind of fell into it.”

August 12th, 2009 • By Kelly • Alexis, Appearances, Interview, Media, News

I have updated the “Important Dates” with more need-to know dates! Don’t forget to watch the shows, I especially can’t wait for when she visits It’s On with Alexa Chung! Her “Post Grad” co-star, Zach Gilford will also visit Alexa Chung the day before!
Remember how a few weeks back, I asked you guys to post questions for Michelle‘s interview with Alexis? Well, as it happened the interview has been performed and all 6 questions that I chose were asked. (: The interview, altogether consists of 20 questions. I have posted the 6 from this site and the rest are here or after the jump! She answered my questions and says she only has a Facebook & Myspace page- no Twitter! Don’t forget to visit Michelle’s blog, click on the thumbnail in the sidebar (:

15. From Julie Achermann: Now that Gilmore Girls is over and you’ve appeared in some great movies, what do you prefer, being part of a movie or a television show? Which one requires a harder work?
A: Julie,
There are great things about both; when you’re on a show, you have consistent work for a while, which is great. When you’re going from movie to movie, you get to enjoy a fresh start at the beginning of each job, which is also nice. Both require hard work, but television show schedules are typically more demanding.

16. From Lucia: Out of all the characters you have played, which can you relate to the most?
A: Lucia,
I can relate to all of them a little bit.

17. from Esme: Which movie/t.v. show was the most fun to shoot and why?
A: Esme,
Sin City was fun because it was so different from other work I’ve done, and I just worked on an independent film called The Good Guy last summer; that one was fun because we shot it in New York City with a great group of people.

18. From Kelly: Do you have any official or social networking sites (like Twitter, Myspace etc.), if so, what are they?
A: Kelly,
I have official myspace and facebook pages. Here are the links:
http://www.myspace.com/alexisbledel
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/AlexisBledel?ref=ts

19. From Joanne: What is your favorite movie and TV show?
A: Joanne,
Some of my most recently favorite movies are Children of Men and The Motorcycle Diaries. Mad Men is a great show. Does anyone remember Perfect Strangers or Mr. Belvedere from the eighties? Those were some of my favorites when I was a kid. And I loved The Cosby Show.

20. From Tamara: What is one of your favorite episodes of Gilmore Girls and why?
A: Tamara,
My favorite episode is the first one, the pilot. I’m not sure why, maybe it makes me sentimental in a way, it was my first acting job, and in it are the first few scenes Lauren and I shot together with seven years of working closely to follow.

Alexis was on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” on Tuesday. Alexis wore a lovely dress and she looked great as always. They talk about “Post Grad”- obviously- and . Watch the interview below.
